EPM solutions: How to manage maintenance
and technical upgrades?
The end of SAP FC maintenance in 2030 is quickly approaching. In the meantime, how do we manage maintenance and technical upgrades? In this interview, Vincent Thieriot, Senior Manger in Primexis’ Group Information Systems department, shares his experience. As a specialist in consolidation and reporting, he looks at the current challenges and highlights the importance of anticipating the changeover for a smooth transition.
What are your main assignments?
I specialize in implementing and maintaining information systems, especially in the consolidation and reporting domains. My main assignments revolve around support, technical third-party maintenance, and assisting with version upgrades. For technical third-party maintenance assistance and support, I help clients with the operational condition maintenance of their applications. I help them manage incidents and assist with technical and operational upgrades.
I work mainly with the IT department and all of its teams, particularly those in charge of hosting, systems, network, and security. I also interact with the application managers, who act as the link between users and the client’s IS. In the event of bugs or abnormalities, I liaise with consolidation and controlling teams.

What are the major challenges currently facing the market?
One of the main challenges I’ve seen is the end of SAP FC tool maintenance, scheduled for 2030. This means that companies will have to carry out a final version upgrade to ensure that their systems are compatible and running smoothly until that date.
In anticipation of this deadline, companies need to prepare for the changeover and start thinking about selecting their future system. Possible solutions include Group Reporting with SAP, Tagetik, Anaplan Consolidation (formerly known as Fluence), and OneStream.
